Content Manager - Research (Global Events Client)

Up to £30,000 + 6k Bonus

My client is a leading events forum business specialising in transport based events, due to more expansion a role has arisen for a Content Manager, ideally the candidate will be highly determined, ambitious, intelligent and diligent individual, someone with outstanding attention to detail, enthusiastic, with a professional manner who is self-motivated to join a media business undergoing of a period of growth.

The successful candidate will be a writer who can analyse data, understands the commercial aspect of a modern media business and has worked in industrial markets. They will have the opportunity to make this position their own and become an integral part of the team and the rapid growth of the media department of a business to business (b2b) company focussing on three vibrant and fast moving areas, this will report into the Editor.

Key areas of responsibility:

Content creation.

  • Creating daily content in our respective markets: news, interviews, case studies, analysis articles, thought leadership and detailed long form features plus data driven publications and reports.
  • Developing new research and report projects from the ground up. Regular research into the various elements of our core markets.
  • Researching available market, project and tender data and exploring potential for databases and data products - liaising with market to validate concepts and work with editor on business plans.
  • Liaising with commercial clients and taking a key role in the delivery and creation of collaboration calls in line with key customer needs to deliver on paid for editorial / content / lead gen etc.
  • Producing progress reports for clients and liaising with sales team on delivery of client requirements.
  • Work with the Editor in managing projects through editing, design, publishing and promotion.
  • Hosting live webinars and roundtables as moderator at our live events / one off events.

Required experience:

  • A graduate with a minimum 2:1 grade in a credible subject from a good university.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a media environment, ideally with experience of researching and analysing industrial markets or tech B2B industry.
  • Experience (either via degree of work) of data journalism, data analysis, report research and writing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently over the phone, in writing and face-to-face with internal and external stakeholders of a senior level.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time, work in a fast paced environment and to meet fixed, inflexible deadlines.
  • A proactive and intelligent approach to your work matched by a positive attitude towards all the tasks the job includes. And to suggest new ways of working, tactics and opportunities for the business as and when appropriate.
  • Attention to detail, and ability to focus on at times technical and complex written content and learn a niche product market.
