Job Title – Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Hours of Work – 4 Days on / 4 off / 4 Night on / 4 off (12 hour Shifts)

Location – Ashford

Salary - £43,257 plus overtime (x1.5 Days, x2.0 for Nights)

The Company

Our client is specialises in the manufacturing of products for the construction market. With 19 manufacturing sites across the UK, this multi-million pound company have been investing heavily across both their production and quarry sites to help meet an ever increasing market demand for construction materials.

Their site near Ashford is their flagship site, houses the most modern fully automated Brick production plant in the UK. The facility is designed to produce 105 million completely bespoke bricks per year on a 14 hour production cycle, leaving 8 hours per day for Planned Preventative Maintenance work. This Planned Maintenance work is essential as clay is an aggressive substance that will physically wear down the machines if left unchecked.

To help meet market demand, the Business have invested heavily to increase the capacity of the kiln to further increase the production capacity and meet the growing market demand. The business has also released a brand new line of bricks, completely unique to the market, which is being produced at this site.

The Role

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer would be joining a well established team of 22 engineers on site. Working on a 4 on 4 off Days and Nights rotation, each shift comprises of two Electrical Maintenance Engineers and two Mechanical Maintenance Engineers.

Day to day the Electrical Maintenance Engineer would be responsible for dealing with all Electrical Maintenance tasks on shift, which would consist of reacting to breakdowns, performing tasks from the PPM schedule and installation upgrade work as part of a companywide Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiative.

Hands on the Electrical Maintenance Engineer will need to be able to fault find with a multimeter against electrical drawings, interrogate PLCs, change faulty electrical components such as switches, sensors, fuses, relays, inverters, servos and motors, plus safely isolate any piece of equipment and work on electrical safety circuits. Equipment on site includes conveyors, clay mills, brick presses, robots, dryers, kilns and palletisers.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application you must have the following skills, abilities or qualifications:

* Must have a recognised Electrical Engineering Qualification.
* Must have previous experience working on automated plant.
* Must be able to fault find on PLCs
