A Manufacturing Manager is required for a leading global Tier 1 manufacturer that operate within the automotive industry. The Manufacturing Manager will play a key role in developing, monitoring and evaluating overall performance of the business in meeting and exceeding Key Performance Indicators. You will be responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing process which includes Resource Management, Team Leader Performance and Production Output and to ensure support on all matters relating to Health & Safety, Team Member Welfare, Continuous Improvement and Training.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, your main duties and responsibilities will include:

Manufacturing:

Work to achieve the Key Performance Indicators set in agreement with the Vice President Global Operations & General Manager

To prioritise and balance workloads ensuring manufacturing output and efficiency is achieved

To ensure quality performance is maintained and improved upon

To plan and implement the manufacturing programme meeting customer expectation of On Time (OT) and In Full (IF)

Working with the manufacturing team to achieve and improve upon agreed finished stock levels

To ensure information relating to daily events including production requirements, sales achievements, Quality matters, visitors etc. are disseminated to the teams

To offer leadership on health and safety matters ensuring guidelines are followed including the upkeep of systems including Risk Assessments, Fire hazards, Noise etc.

To be actively involved in new developments / processes to expand the product portfolio

To be involved in and encourage team members to participate in ‘Continuous Improvement’ activities

To motivate, mentor, coach and provide encouragement for all team members

Where appropriate to complete Human resource activities within the team. These include, but are not limited to Personal Development reviews, ‘return to work’ interviews, team disciplinary matters, authorise and schedule team member holiday requests, recruitment interviews etc.

To be involved in manufacturing related capital expenditure and equipment selection decision making process

Quality:

To understand and work within the business TS16949 / IATF16949 Quality system

To understand and work within the business ISO14001 Environmental system

To ensure that the products conform to visual and dimensional requirements

General:

To provide technical support and advice on cost estimates

To work within the companies Health & Safety Policy

To maintain a clean and tidy work environment

To attend meetings as and when required

To be involved in Team briefings, encouraging open communication

To deputise for the General Manager in specific assigned activities where necessary

To be successful in the role of Manufacturing Manager, you will need to have/be:

A professional background gained within Works Management in a fast moving manufacturing arena, ideally within the Automotive supply chain

Experience of improving existing work practices and procedures surrounding the Quality (TS16949 / IATF 16949) and Environmental (ISO14001) systems

‘Hands on’ as the individual will be responsible for the ongoing management of Production teams

This role is based in Witney and is easily commutable from Oxford, Abingdon, Chipping Norton and Bicester.
