Our established client is looking to recruit for an experienced Production Supervisor to work on a 3 shift system salary inclusive of shift allowance. Salary is 44K basic plus a 12% bonus.

2 days on ( 12 hour)

2 nights on ( 12 hours)

4 off.

The role is responsible for managing all aspects of a manufacturing business unit on a shift basis, including directing activities within the business unit, adhering to established quality, production, and regulatory standards, staffing, production output, costs and customer order fill rates.

Job role:

On a shift basis, has primary accountability for the health and well-being of all team members within the business unit.

Is responsible for maintaining the expertise of the production team through continual personal assessment and monitoring of performance.

Leads, manages and motivates the manufacturing team with responsibility for recruitment, performance management, training and development and discipline. This includes carrying out quarterly assessments of all team members through monitoring of performance data and physical one to ones.

Participates in process improvement activity with other members of the business unit under the leadership and direction of the unit leaders and monitors and enforces lean practices and sustainability and ensures standards are maintained, including adherence to 6S standards, board information accuracy and value, visual management, quality KPI's and first pass yield performance.

Drives improvements in standard work practices, production output to target, scrap avoidance, rework, deviations, operator cross training, operator rotation, process specifications, standard operating procedures, order fulfillment, product plan attainment and inventory objectives.

Develop the team leaders to ensure the required professional, technical and business standards are driven into all team members.

Works in conjunction both with the two other BU production supervisors and the other two on a shift by shift basis to ensure lines of communication are maintained across BUs and within the entire supervisor group. Shift handovers and regular meetings must play a vital role in this.

Recommends budgets to management. Reviews business unit performance-to-budget.

Key Skills

Evidence of clear verbal and written communication.

Ability to develop effective and positive professional relationships with internal and external customers.

Ability to organise information and resources effectively, prioritising tasks according to their urgency and importance.

Demonstrable experience with a combination of track record and continued personal development and education is essential. This will have been attained in medium to large manufacturing/engineering facilities.

Knowledge of engineering processes including CNC operations including milling, turning and grinding is preferred; additionally some knowledge of robotics, coatings and packaging would be advantageous.
