About the Role:

We are looking to recruit a Volunteering Project Manager to lead a new recruitment drive for volunteers and support all elements of our volunteer programme. This is an exciting opportunity to support the mobilisation of a number of new services to support prisoners` children and families across multiple regions in addition to existing mentoring services for former prisoners, and family members, in communities all over England and Wales.

Volunteers are at the heart of Pact`s services, and we believe volunteers make a unique contribution. Last year, volunteers gave over 24,000 hours of service .We depend on contributions of time and skills and we want to attract even more volunteers, of all ages (18+), and from the diverse communities, including people with lived experience of the justice system, reflecting the people we serve. We work to reduce the risk of re-offending and of inter-generational offending, through supporting healthy family relationships during a prison sentence, and by providing practical and emotional support. You will enable us to extend our vital support to many more people affected by imprisonment.

About You:

Reporting to the Director of HR, you will help champion volunteering within and outside of the charity, and engage with managers and volunteer coordinators to ensure that we are improving our practice as we seek to grow our volunteer base.

As a subject matter expert, you will confidently provide accurate advice and guidance to managers and volunteer coordinators regarding volunteering opportunities, policies and processes and assist them in recruiting and managing volunteers with the skills they require. In line with this, you will participate in our Volunteer Working Group which informs the development of volunteering practice across Pact. Part of your role will be to identify and further develop the organisation`s volunteering infrastructure that supports and develops volunteer recruitment, management and engagement.

To be successful in the role, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience of supervising and managing volunteers as well experience in the development and management of projects preferably in the voluntary sector. Ideally you will have a proven track record in delivering high profile volunteer recruitment campaigns. You must be able to prioritise and juggle changing demands whilst working to deadlines and be willing to roll your sleeves up to help make the project a success. A confident communicator, you will have the ability to build rapport and engage a variety of audiences to encourage volunteering as well as working with managers and volunteer coordinators to attract great volunteers.

You may have experience of the following: Volunteer Management, Project Manager, Charity, Charities, Third Sector, Project Management, Not For Profit, NFP, Project Delivery, Volunteer Recruitment, Stakeholder Management, Recruitment Officer, Voluntary Sector, Volunteer Coordinator etc.
