Application Support - Financial Services - London

The Ashdown Group has been engaged by an international financial services house to assist them in their search for an Applications Support Specialist to join a growing UK technology team. The role will focus on support of the core financial applications estate and will involve close interaction with teams in the USA and India.

The successful candidate will be an highly articulate and intelligent Application Support Analyst and will have experience within the financial services sector already. Strong SQL scripting skills and experience of working with the SQL BI suite (SSRS and SSAS with some SSIS) is essential. Previous experience of supporting financial services oriented applications is also expected. Knowledge of object oriented programming, gained either commercially or academically would be of particular interest, as would experience with Tableau and/or Visio. The role will include elements of general user support, monitoring of batch processing and automated functions, system rollouts, report generation and broad production support and troubleshooting. There will be considerable opportunity to get involved in projects for new implementations. You will formally be a member of the Applications Support team, but the only member of the team working in the London office, alongside the London IT Manager and his team.

This role is likely to suit a candidate with a degree in computer sciences or possible in finance, with previous experience working in the financial services sector. Remuneration (£45,000 to £60,000) will be dependent on depth of relevant experience.
