Primary Teaching Assistant Person Specification

For this role you must be an enthusiastic graduate who has a good understanding of how to work with children based on experience gained from a similar role and a long history of academic success that includes a 2:2 or better in your degree. You should have the capability to be a responsible influence on the pupils you support. The Headteacher wants to recruit a graduate with the passion to succeed in education, always developing their skills throughout the school year. You must have the skills to apply your positive nature across all subject areas.

About the Primary Teaching Assistant Role

In this Primary Teaching Assistant post you will be working within a specific class based on school need and your own preferences. Your responsibilities will include acting as a mentor for your pupils, taking some out of lessons for 1:1 tuition and teaching others in group sessions. You will be joining a team that works well under the committed Senior Leadership Team and under the guidance of the school SENCO. This Primary Teaching Assistant position involves using this support role to earn the respect of the leadership team and potentially securing yourself a place on their Premier Pathways PGCE programme. You will be attending specific feedback meetings and individual training sessions with a SENCO who will coach you through your time here.
