Accounts Person required for company based just outside of Tunbridge Wells. £24-27K Monday to Friday - Off street parking

PURPOSE

The Accounts Person is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements, Payroll, VAT, EC Sales, reporting to HMRC and filing Accounts on-line at Companies House. The Accounts Manager is a standalone role so excellent time management skills are vital, making sure work is properly completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
  • ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end
  • ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information internally and to HMRC
  • ensure all payments to HMRC are accurate and made on time
  • ensure the accurate and timely processing of the Payroll and all associated activities including P6, P32, P60 and P11D, and including Auto-Enrolment
  • ensure the daily and annual Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner
  • support budget and forecasting activities
  • monitor and analyse work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • ensure a clean and timely year end processing and filing of documents at Companies House
  • ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
  • develop and implement new procedures and features to enhance workflow and maximise efficiency and effectiveness.
  • A thorough knowledge of Sage Accounts and Sage Payroll essential
