Vargo Recruitment has a rare yet excellent vacancy for a permanent, part-time, Payroll Officer to join their growing multi-million manufacturing company. The Payroll Officer is responsible for operating the weekly payroll function and reporting directly to the HR & Payroll Administrator.

The hours of work are Monday - Wednesday 8:30am - 5pm, a total of 24 hours.

This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

JOB ROLE

  • Process weekly payroll and ensure staff are paid in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Be the first point of contact for payroll issues
  • Process any new starters/leavers, calculate and pay any statutory payments such as SSP, SMP etc
  • Assist with the collating of agency staff hours and ensure they are communicated to the in a timely and accurate manner for payment by the agency staff provider
  • Assist in maintaining and updating Time and Attendance system with any holidays, missed clockings, bereavement leave, training days etc.and dealing with any other anomalies
  • Ensure the business is compliant with regards working time regulations
  • Prepare all payments for Inland Revenue
  • Process any P45’s and P46’s
  • Administration of auto-enrolment and ensuring full compliance
  • Prepare, reconcile and file pension payments online to Pension Provider
  • Implement any Local Authority Attachment of Earnings
  • Produce weekly payroll reports and KPI’s on a weekly basis
  • Update and distribute weekly headcount
  • Submit weekly RTI files to Inland Revenue
  • Post weekly payroll Journals
  • Reconcile the associated Payroll Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis
  • Prepare and file Inland Revenue Year End Returns
  • Deal with employees sensitive and confidential issues
  • Any other duties that could reasonably be expected as being within the remit of the post
