Senior Underwriting Governance Analyst. £50,000 - £60,000

This rapidly expanding Loyd's underwriters have a first class market reputation and exciting future growth plans. They are now looking for a candidate with exposure to underwriting governance for their City office.

The main function of the role is to proactively assist managing the day-to-day technical underwriting governance activities of the syndicate's business, developing and embedding the underwriting governance culture within the business where underwriting governance is genuinely seen as a value-add business facing function.


In conjunction with the Underwriting Governance Manager, developing and maintaining the syndicate's underwriting governance framework including:

Underwriting policy;

Class guidelines;

Terms of reference of various underwriting committees and working groups and Letters of authority.

Assist with the oversight of training offered to syndicate staff on existing or new procedures/processes;

Coordinate system updates following any review of underwriting management documents;

In conjunction with Underwriting Governance Manager, ensure that underwriting regulatory requirements (Lloyd's MUS, PRA/FCA and SOX) are met;

Identify issues that may span and escalate as necessary;

Liaise with assigned businesses on identified issues;

Work alongside the Independent Review Coordinator in the administration of Independent Reviews;

Develop and follow up on action items;

In conjunction with the IER Coordinator identify issues that may span and escalate as necessary;

Liaise with assigned businesses on review issues where necessary;

Leverage solutions from other teams where possible;

In conjunction with the IER Coordinator monitor reviews done by independent reviewers to ensure that they are timely and properly carried out.

Assist the Underwriting Governance Manager in writing underwriting governance reports for board/committee meetings;

Design and co-ordinate effective management information at board and committee level so as to respond to relevant risk appetites related to underwriting governance;

Assist, where necessary, with the collation of relevant reports for the Underwriting Management Committee and other Committee meetings as may be required;
