We are looking for a Technical Manager to join our team. You will carry out the preparation of viability study for sites and establish satisfactory resolution to issues identified as part of the planning application. You will commission surveys and structural work as required to ensure all information is available for pre tender/pre start meetings. Furthermore, you will instruct, supervise and monitor engineering consultants on post-acquisition work ensuring compliance with building regulations and NHBC Standards.
About the job:
-Collate project documentation and ensure that it remains compliant to project governance for whole project cycle.
-Identify and mitigate clashes, stats and build ability issues
-Instruct, supervise and monitor engineering consultants on post-acquisition engineering work ensuring compliance with building regulations, NHBC Standards and CDM 2015 Regulations within the Development Directorate and in compliance with its strategy.
-Provide a comprehensive service in all aspects of Technical information and compliance of Development Projects
-To be the conduit between external and internal customers to ensure that information flow and communication is effective. To closely liaise with the Project Teams and Housing Services.
-To participate in preparing scheme appraisals for the approval of internal appraisal panels to enable assessment of viability and risk associated with proposed schemes and for bids.
-To use customer feedback and ideas, both from tenants and clients and incorporate these views as far as practicable.
-To prepare and give presentations as necessary on key projects milestones.
-Assist in the acquisition of new land, preparing Technical Reports and analyzing information.
-It would be desirable to have an Architectural Technologist or Technical Coordinator background
-Must be degree qualified in a relevant discipline (Civil, Environmental, Engineering, Architecture or Project Management)
-A sound understanding of architectural and project technical requirements, the development process and infrastructure.
-A strong understanding of current Building Regulations and other regulatory documents within the construction industry.
-Ability to manage a team and enable an effective technical service to other parts of the team.
-Understanding of technical engineering calculations
-Sound communication and influencing skills
-Sound knowledge of construction project methodology and the local planning legislation
-Thorough knowledge of contract types
-Understanding of cross functional activities (Finance, Legal, Housing)
