About the role
The Desk Side Engineer is responsible for providing Front Office infrastructure, hardware and software support to CAS users. The Desk Side Engineer will work closely with the Service Desk to provide second and third line operational support and to ensure timely and efficient resolution of CAS service requests, issues and incidents

What you will do:
Efficient and effective delivery of Front Office infrastructure second and third line operational support including (but not limited to) desktop and client support, local server and network support, desk-side delivery and desk-side training of end users and installations
Collect and maintain accurate, detailed information about all CAS support requests to provide the relevant information to other support and application teams as appropriate and to facilitate service and management reporting
Own and resolve CAS issues raised through the Service Desk and handle resulting incidents and Service Requests using agreed incident management and request fulfilment processes
Support the investigation and diagnosis of assigned problems for workarounds and / or root causes. Proactively propose solutions to problems and implement solutions as agreed with the Manager of Desk Side Support
Manage CAS user relationships and engage with other Capita Service Delivery teams and third party support providers to resolve issues and incidents as appropriate
Maintain a level of technical expertise and continually build a strong understanding of technical knowledge and current market and industry trends
Participate in disaster recovery activities as required
Perform capacity management and availability management activities for Front Office systems
Your experience will include:
Minimum 2 years' service desk experience or 1 year desk side
MCSE (or other Microsoft certifications), CCNA, Computer Maintenance A+, ITIL Certification
Experience with AD
Experience with Office365 administration
Worked as part of a larger team but manages own workload
Experienced working towards agreed SLAs (e.g. call conversion and issue resolution)
Must have analytical skills and be able to solve technical problems across different platforms.
Must be a team player and be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
Must be able to demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to all levels within the organisation.
