EslingKenny are currently recruiting on behalf of a travel company based in West London who are looking for a Finance Manager to join their small busy team.

Applicants must be technically strong, hardworking and good communicators keen to form strong working relationships across the business. The successful applicant will ideally be qualified in either ACCA, CIMA, or ACA although we are happy to consider candidates at finalist level.

Position Description:

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, The Finance Manager will run the small but busy Finance Team, whilst also taking responsibility for the key finance functions, namely, management accounts preparation, intercompany reconciliation, payroll, VAT and budgeting.

Major areas of responsibility include:

• Preparation of the monthly management accounts for review by the Finance Director.
• Reconciliation of key trading data for the monthly management accounts including revenue, cost of sales and commission.
• Interrogation of aged creditor and debtor reports.
• Monthly preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations.
• Inter-company reconciliation with other group entities.
• Assist with the production the annual statutory accounts for review by the Finance Director.
• Processing the monthly payroll for submission to the bureau.
• Manage the auto-enrolment pension scheme contributions and payments.
• Working with the Finance Director on bi-annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, with a focus on staff costs and marketing expenditure.
• Preparing cost vs budget analysis on a monthly basis.
• Oversee the accurate allocation of daily and monthly multi-currency banking and review the corresponding bank reconciliations on a month by month basis.
• Daily input of payments into online banking system, ready for authorisation.
• Monthly reconciling of all company credit card statements.
• Assist in the resolution of Finance related customer disputes.
• Producing weekly cash flows.
• Liaising with internal as well as external auditors, preparing key information for a successful completion.
• Raising ad hoc invoices and the collection thereof.
• Quarterly VAT returns.
• Managing a team of 2 their key responsibilities being sales and purchase ledger.
• Responsible for recruiting, training and appraising staff.
• Environmental reporting for the entity into the groups corporate responsibility software.
• Assist Finance Director with tasks as required.


• Ideally CIMA, ACCA or ACA Qualified or at Finalist level
• Commercially astute, articulate, technically strong, enterprising, insightful and influential leader
• Good management skills
