Job Summary

This post will form part of a team of Network Engineers who manage the CSU and Client Networking Infrastructure. This would typically include Wan, Lan, Wireless, Firewalls, Network Security and IP Telephony.

This job is within the NHS and it is a full time temporary role with the view to be a full time position for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:

To support the Networking Infrastructure of the organisation and its Clients. Typically, the networking infrastructure is likely to include: WAN, LAN, Firewalls, Wireless, networking security and IP Telephony.

To support this infrastructure in accordance with the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as defined in Client service level agreements (SLAs).

Maintain the various network systems to ensure business as usual.

To identify key risks and escalate them in accordance with the organisations procedures as appropriate.

Essential Experience:

Cisco LAN Switches
Cisco Wireless technologies
Cisco Firewalls
Ethernet, MPLS, DSL and ISDN
In-depth understanding of network infrastructure design and experience supporting large complex multi-site voice and data network solutions.
Managing remote access technologies
Ensuring daily/weekly tasks are performed in accordance with policy and procedures
Developing and maintaining policies and procedures in line with departmental responsibilities and goals
Participation in regular operational and project review meetings and delivering "top-down" and "bottom-up" updates.
Resource planning and performance management of people and/or services
Participation in formal change control process (CCN)
Production and maintenance of accurate systems inventory, build documents, licence and patch management records.

A CCNA qulaification or equivalent / experience is also required.
