An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Equipment Engineer with specialist knowledge of pharmaceutical processes and machinery to join a new team. Working for a leading pharmaceutical company within multiple industries, this is an exciting time to join a new department as they consolidate their position within the market.

Unlike other similar roles, this is NOT shift based and rather works to the standard working week, though you are required to be on call out.

The client is a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer as part of a Global Operation. With numerous operations and office bases throughout the UK, our client has long standing contracts with market leaders in the public and private sector, and is keen on developing their staff to be the best in the industry.  

The Equipment Engineer will ultimately report into the Engineering Manager (UK) and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to help deliver PPM, TPM and OEE across two different sites based in London and Oxford.  You will typically be operating under nominal supervision thus in depth understanding of maintenance and preventative measures is essential.

Key duties associated with this role will include:

- Trouble shooting, fault finding and resolution to root cause of compounding related plant and equipment.
- Ownership of shutdown planning and execution, inclusive of shut down and start up activities.
- Implementing the engineering improvement plan for two different sites.
- Travel between both sites is required.
- Working on CAPEX, spares inventory and OEE.
- Developing and implementing PPM procedures and schedules that assess equipment availability and reliability.
- Planning and directing the installation, testing, operation, maintenance and repair of all facilities and equipment.
- Directing and coordinating the engineering activities associated with all compounding plant and equipment.
- Management of contractors, service providers and installation engineers etc.  

The Equipment Engineer will have:

- Experience of maintenance (preventative and reactive) within the pharmaceutical industry
- Knowledge of and experience with creating TPM plans for multiple sites
- Experience of maintaining electrical and mechanical areas of plant
- Experience with the installation of new plant equipment
- GMP experience would be highly desirable but not essential
- HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering advantageous
