Our Client, a FTSE 250 listed company within the Finance and Banking Sector, are currently seeking an analytical and proactive Treasury Banking Operations Executive to join their team on a full-time, contract basis. The role would involve taking responsibility for the processing of day to day transactions; minimising the risk inherent in the settlement and reconciliation of payment, receipt and ledger transactions by ensuring the accurate and timely booking and settlement of a range of Sterling and currency products.

The ideal candidate will be bright and highly detail-oriented. They will have excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude, being able to build expert payment knowledge and act in an advisory role for the Treasury and wider Banking division where needed.

Duties and Responsibilities include:
-Processing payments in various systems with a high level of accuracy, checking that correct authorisation has been obtained
-Running the daily cashbooks for Treasury’s main Sterling and Currency accounts, including calling back payments, agreeing regular figures with Front Office and ticking back all items from system generated reports
-Keying entries into internal accounting systems or approving entries keyed in by other members of staff
-Investigating any issues that may arise, including non-receipt of payments or held payments
-Reconciling daily bank flows
-Producing payment related statistics on a weekly and monthly basis
-Constantly challenging and questioning established processes, looking for efficiencies and improved controls and taking ownership of process improvement activities until completion
-Ensuring that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to
-Embracing the Conduct Risk culture in a positive manner

Skills and experience
-Proven experience of Swift Installations/UAT/Testing Projects
-Knowledge of SAP interface systems from an Operational perspective
-Proven experience within a finance operations or payments team
-Proven payment processing experience, including SWIFT input
-Demonstrable knowledge of UK payment systems (CHAPS, Faster Payments, BACS, Cheques)
-3 A levels, or equivalent, ideally with at least one in Mathematics or a Science subject
-Degree level or equivalent qualification in a business, finance or science subject ideal
-Professional Banker Certificate in Treasury or Finance ideal
-Experience in process re-engineering and change within a treasury environment ideal
-Strong Excel skills
-Exposure to Derivatives and Securities ideal
