We are looking for a Weighbridge Operator to join our very busy customer in Fareham.
Job Purpose:
To control all vehicle movements over the weighbridge and undertake weighbridge duties, as well as provide excellent customer service and operational administrative support to the Operations Manager and Yard Foreman, helping to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the operation.
Key Tasks:
1.
Weigh vehicles on and off of the weighbridge and interface with company drivers and third party drivers and process their paper work and take payment where necessary.

2.
Liaise and communicate with company drivers throughout the day and help to resolve any driver problems as and when they occur. Relay information from the office to the drivers regarding any issues.

3.
Answer the telephone and deal with any customer queries/enquiries in a polite and courteous manner as and when they arise.

4.
Advise customers clearly and concisely of permitted waste types and hazardous wastes as appropriate.

5.
Assist the accounts department with any queries and print all tickets required by the accounts department.

6.
Process end of month reports for the Operations Manager using the computer system.

7.
Assist and support the Operations Manager on a day-to-day basis and with any specific task or project.

8.
Process the hazardous waste paperwork, enter all consignment notes received on a daily basis on the Environment Agency spreadsheet and produce the quarterly hazardous waste returns that are sent to the Environment Agency.

9.
Make daily entries in the site diary and compile reports on the waste entering and leaving the site.

10.
Advise anybody who has tipped asbestos in the 3 month period of the volumes tipped on a quarterly basis by extracting the information from the EA spreadsheet and transferring it to another spreadsheet and inserting each entry into a letter.

11.
Liaise, communicate, and interface with other members of the team at the Head Office and at the other Recycling Centres on a regular basis to ensure excellent communication and enhanced working relationships.

12.
Assist in resolving customer complaints, as and when they occur.

13.
Assist in ensuring compliance with all current and impending/future legislative requirements.

14.
Ensure you have a good operational and geographical knowledge of the Recycling Centre’s operating area.

15.
Open and close the site as and when required as a key holder for the site, ensuring the alarm system is activated and deactivated accordingly.

16.
Undertake full and comprehensive training to enable you to support the Yard Foremen at other local Recycling Centres.

17.
Responsible for the Office/Site function on a Saturday in the absence of the Yard Foreman and Operations Manager.

18.
Be fully conversant with the site licence, working plan, and operational requirements of each site, and the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and its implementation.

19.
Maintain the register of Waste Carrier Registration Certificates for all customers who use the Recycling Centres.

20.
Compile and conduct at least one toolbox talk per week at a Recycling Centre.

21.
Maintain the training register for all Recycling Centre employees.

22.
Promote all of the companies services to customers at every opportunity.

23.
Support other members of the team with any other duties as and when required.

24.
General administration duties as and when required as well as any reasonable ad hoc tasks that may be requested of you, eg putting driver paperwork in the internal mail bag.

25.
Maintain your work station and equipment - keep it in a clean and well-presented manner.

26.
Operate work equipment (ie computer, photocopier, printer, facsimile machines).

27.
Work flexibly and be receptive and adaptable to a changing environment within a fast expanding Company
