The Role
 
Our client is looking for a passionate QA to join our growing technology team. The successful candidate will work alongside developers and other members of the scrum teams to design, develop and conduct testing throughout the project lifecycle.
 
Experience & Skills

- Proficiency with automated testing/ QA approaches.
- Demonstrable experience using test automation frameworks and tools, such as Cucumber, Selenium web driver.
- Working knowledge of version control systems to ensure version control of test/development artefacts (e.g. SVN).
- Working knowledge of a CI system to create builds (e.g. Jenkins, Cruise Control, Team City)
- Experience of taking QA build and loading into the test platform.
- Support and contribute to the development and implementation of unit test and procedures.
- Experience writing good quality object-oriented code, using C#, Java or JavaScript. Experience creating mock objects and stubs in any of the programming languages.
- Understanding of databases and services (e.g.RESTful services), including the ability to programmatically interact with data formats that may include XML and JSON  
- Experience identifying the genesis of a defect, using de-bugging tools and analyzing stack traces, code, log-files and other artefacts.
- Broad understanding of Agile development practices including TDD & BDD and their application.
- Champion Automation by identify opportunities and working with peers to deliver it.
- Strong knowledge of database design and sql skills.
- Strong understanding and experience with core software applications.
- Comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

- Reporting into the QA Lead, take ownership of the definition of, and the delivery against, all product quality metrics.
- Contribute to the evolution of user stories and Acceptance Tests with respect to Automation.
- Authoring of all test cases for all system tasks, bugs, and other issues.
- Design, implement and review test scenarios and cases for automated testing.
- Perform impact analysis to identify areas of risk within products.
- Using a defect tracking system to report all issues to the development team
- Providing annotated screenshots and detailed steps to reproduce for any reported issues
- Participation in daily meetings and reporting progress.
- Working with developers to use version control to control environmental releases and branches.
- Take ownership of building and maintaining Automation frameworks.
