Cubed Resourcing are working closely with a world leading, international manufacturing business that currently have an opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their mechanical process equipment engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be required to head the design verification function and will also be responsible for implementation of EU/CE legislation for process equipment.

Our client have a presence in over 70 countries with a number of highly-engineered products which are a key component in numerous industries. This well-established company has seen significant revenue growth with output rising from £31million to circa £130million within the last 6 years.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will ensure that design verification is completed within contract timescales and with the highest level of accuracy. This role will be based form our client`s production site accessible from Hebden Bridge, Huddersfield, Halifax, Oldham, Rochdale and Burnley.

Key responsibilities:

- Assist with departmental projects regarding CE legislation including PED, ATEX and Construction Products Regulations
- Responsibility for CE marking of Process Equipment
- Responsibility for design optimisation via Finite Element Method and hand calculation where necessary
- Reviewing technical specifications for large tenders

Key requirements:

- 5+ years` experience in a Senior Mechanical Engineering role within a relevant manufacturing environment
- Educated to degree level or above in Mechanical Engineering (Chartered Engineer status would be desirable)
- Previous experience and appreciation of EU/CE legislation including PED, ATEX and PED with a commercial mindset
- Previous experience with design verification is essential
- SAP and engineering software experience e.g. MathCAD, MatLAB
- Experience of Finite Element Analysis using Siemens NX/Nastran would be beneficial
- Flexibility to travel to customer sites (around 6 times a year)
- Proficient in the use of 3D CAD packages, ideally Siemens NX
- Knowledge of medium to heavy rotating/processing equipment would be a clear advantage
