Senior Factory Services & Production Engineer

£35,000 - £40,000 + benefits

Our client is an entrepreneurial, fast growing SME operating in a high quality, manufacturing and service sector. Due to ongoing growth, they now seek to appoint a highly-motivated individual to take ownership of new projects as well as the existing factory services function.

Key to the success of this appointment will be practical problem solving, effective communication, strong decisiveness and a drive to develop and improve processes. This is a business undergoing significant change and requires teams to effectively adapt and react positively to growth and/or market opportunities. Additionally, there is an expectation that continuous improvement should be truly embedded within the culture, with the workforce actively seeking ways to improve customer service, putting customer needs at the centre of decision making.

 Degree Level Engineering Qualification or equivalent.
 Practical working experience in a Factory Services and/or Production Engineering role essential, preferably for a period of 5+ years.
 Compilation of Engineering Drawings and planning Layouts on CAD.
 Experience of Microsoft Office.
 Experience of programming production line PLCs.
 Ability to communicate across all levels / disciplines to identify requests for improvements and new processes.
 Experience of organising contractors & supervising Installation of equipment.
 Ability to self-manage and prioritise workload to deliver projects in line with business requirements.
 Proven record of developing processes to give productivity improvements without compromising quality.
 Design tooling and equipment to support improvement of current and new processes.
 Working knowledge of leading continuous improvement activities for which a working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques is essential.
 Experience / awareness of NPI processes for blue chip customers.
 Awareness of operating within an ISO9001or TS16949 Quality environment and how this impacts daily working / projects.
 Experience of running and improving a TPM system.
 Six-Sigma qualifications are advantageous.
