Purpose

For my client, user experience is at the heart of product design and they're in the middle of an exciting transformation. This means a change to our product strategy and putting users at the heart of that. As such, they are looking for a Senior UX Designer / UX Lead to help drive and execute on their strategy.

This is a chance to design digital products, rather than just providing UX execution against product features. This means this person must be used to leading discovery as well as design activities and must be used to bringing stakeholders along the journey and providing compelling user insights at every stage of discovery and design.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

? Work collaboratively with visual designers, content managers, product managers, software developers, testers, architects, content manager and marketing colleagues to help define and implement end-to-end user experiences that deliver tangible business results

? Lead product strategic thinking, starting with customer insight. This involves influencing senior stakeholders at director-level, running workshops and mapping out insights and plans.

? Create user-centric concepts, prototypes, wireframes, mock-ups and UI visuals to explore potential solutions

? Experience leading UX insight activities such as user research, ideation sessions, usability testing, stakeholder interviews

? Understand our products, marketplace, business and technical strategies as the background to working on product requirements

? Through socialisation, feedback and testing, iteratively improve UX and ultimately make them ready to be handed over for implementation, working closely with developers and annotating designs where appropriate.

? Contribute to the evolution of our UCD standards and guidelines, adhering to these in your own work

? Champion the mobile and web experience by clearly specifying cross channel needs and designing mobile / app-first.

? Champion a culture where the fair treatment of customers is at the heart of the business. Ensure that by leading by example, you adhere to all regulatory requirements and apply appropriate controls in the interests of customers. Through the adoption of a top down approach, demonstrate a culture where all of our people understand their regulatory obligations, including what the fair treatment of customer's means to them and our organisation.

  1. KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

? Extensive experience as a UX Designer, working in a web and app facing software development environment to create interactive prototypes, wireframes, journey maps (service blueprints) and mock-ups.

? Ability to work quickly and efficiently to gather and distil complex requirements.

? Has a demonstrable interest in good UX and UI design, and what this means for both the end user and service provider and keeps up with industry best practice.

? Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate complex interaction design concepts at all levels.

? Experience managing stakeholders of all levels, running workshops at all phases of the discovery and design process.

? Ability to facilitate user testing, including experience with obtaining and analysing quantitative and qualitative feedback.
