Your new role
Your Group Financial Controller role has come about due to an integral member of the team stepping down after many years of loyal service. This vacancy will be down to you to impart a fresh review of current operations, and liaise with the regional heads to support the senior leadership team. Core financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, board reporting and business information, alongside business partnering duties all make up this broad, Group Financial Controller role.
What you'll need to succeed
Industry knowledge will be the key to success for this role and you will have to demonstrate a good understanding of your engineering and construction experience during the interview process. Training wise, you will have either trained in a recognised accountancy practice and then moved into an industry role, or undertaken training in industry and gained a wealth of experience in controllership positions whilst in construction and engineering firms. The client will also be open to candidates still in an Audit Practice if they have reached Manager or Senior Manager Grade. You'll naturally have excellent communication skills and the professionalism and charisma to fit into this very hospitable environment.
