Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant for a Lewisham School
Strapline: If you have experience supporting pupils with additional needs and are looking to further you career within the field of SEN, then this could be the job for you!
Introduction: CER are currently working in partnership with a PRIMARY SCHOOL who are currently seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join their growing SEN Team to provide focussed support to an pupil with additional needs.
Person spec and job description: Previous experience supporting young people with special educational needs within a school or care environment is essential for this position; you will be supporting a pupil throughout their daily school routine and reporting to the special needs co-ordinator as your line manager.
The school are looking to start the right candidate in the new academic year with the role requiring you to provide support to a child in Year 7 during lessons and recreational times in school. The pupil does not exhibit challenging behaviour but requires one to one support in the classroom to help them to meet the expected level / milestones across their subjects. The pupil has Global Delay so experience of supporting and building effective relationships with pupils with this or associated conditions would be of advantage.
The School based in LEWISHAM are a large inclusive community school; they work towards an ethos of developing the ability, talents and character of all pupils-which is an integral part of this role. You would be joining a well-established SEN team, where you would be fully supporting within your role and training opportunities are highly encouraged.
