I am currently working with an Ofsted graded 'Good' school in Redbridge to recruit an experienced Media Teacher.
The role is to begin in September, ideally on a permanent basis but would also consider a long term supply. The school had managed to recruit a candidate to start in September, but with only a couple of weeks left in the term, the candidate has had a change of personal circumstances and withdrawn their application, leaving the school in the lurch. With this in mind, the school are happy to consider someone on a short term supply as well.
The successful candidate will be expected to plan and deliver effective and engaging Media lessons to students at both Key Stage 4 and 5. Although the successful candidate will be working with a senior teacher, they will be expected to be able to deliver the subject independently, meaning that a good degree of experience in the field is required. This role offers the opportunity for someone to develop and deliver the subject in their own style.
The school itself is an average sized comprehensive, educating students from the age of 11 -18. Behaviour in the school is generally good and is underpinned by effective behaviour management policies and an SLT that support their teachers every step of the way. They believe that respect is something that must be shared between students and teachers, placing it at the heart of everything they do.
The school has a higher than average proportion of students who have an SEN requirement and also a higher than average percentage of students who speak English as an additional language.
The successful candidate will be an engaging and interactive, fully qualified teacher who is able to inspire their students through committed and stimulating teaching. They will be able to monitor and assess pupil's progress, pushing their students to achieve their very best. They must be able to maintain the behaviour standards within the school, adhering to the schools policies at all times. They must be a qualified teacher with QTS and at least two years of experience teaching Media in the UK.
In return, the school can offer a supporting and trusting environment, where teachers are encouraged to stamp their style on learning. The strong SLT understand that teaching is a demanding vocation and strive to support, guide and interact in a positive and productive fashion with all staff members.
