We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Practitioner to join a very busy and exciting Mental Health Team in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

Main duties:
To ensure key tasks and priorities set within national and local strategies are prioritised and implemented by staff supervised
To ensure that staff operate an integrated service between the Mental Health Trust and Social Services through the shared management of risk and the operation of shared policies
To work in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies to provide high quality and cost effective services for service users and carers
To ensure that service users and carers are involved and consulted in the design and development of services
To ensure that service users and carers receive services appropriate to individual needs
To work with the Team Manager to ensure that staff performance is appraised annually and to adhere to required job performance processes and competences
To provide regular line management supervision and where appropriate, professional supervision for the staff for whom they are responsible, and provide a lead role for best practice within the multi-disciplinary team
To assist in the selection and recruitment of team members and ensure that effective orientation and induction programmes are in place
To adhere to both the Trust and Local Authority’s policies and procedures and promote the principles of equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practise

Essential skills and experience needed:
Knowledge of the NHS and Community Care Act, Mental Health Act 1983(and 2007 Amendments), Disability Discrimination Act, Carers Representation and Services Act, Human Rights Act, Childrens Act and other legislation and guidance as it is appropriate to mental health service users and carers
Knowledge of full range of adult and children social care responsibilities ( including children and families, learning disabilities, physical disabilities and Drug and Alcohol services) sufficient to comply with legislation and procedures as they relate to work with users of mental health services and their carers
The ability to support staff dealing with complex mental health cases and to deal, face to face, with service users who may be in dispute with the service or when dealing with complaints
The ability to manage a small caseload under the supervision of the Team Manager
The ability to deputise for the Team Manager in their absence and represent the Team in contacts with other agencies

Job requirements:
DipSW, CQSW or equivalent recognised Social Work qualification with a valid HCPC registration
Must have a minimum of 3 years recent qualified experience of which 1 year must be within a multidisciplinary team and significant experience as an Approved Mental Health Professional
An enhanced DBS of satisfactory level is essential
A full UK driving licence with access to own car
