About Our Client

Our client is the principal contractor for a group of companies who are responsible for building four new tram extensions in the West Midlands, over the coming decade. This is a fantastic long term opportunity to be a key part of the delivery team on one of the most exciting transport development projects in the UK.

Job Description

The successful applicant will assist the Construction teams in the above projects.

Key Responsibilities will include;

* Setting out the work area, following engineering plans,
* Using hand and power tools to cut and bend bars or mesh,
* Tying rebar (reinforcement bars) together with wire, clips or welds to build up sections,
* Fitting spacers and 'chairs' (supports),
* Fixing the wooden formwork and shuttering used to hold setting concrete in place,
* Fixing steel to concrete bases,
* Installing beams and pre-cast slabs.

The Successful Applicant

* Time Served with at least 4 years demonstrable experience within a construction environment.
* CSCS Card - Blue Skilled Worker Card is preferred.
* Hold or willing to work towards NVQ Level 2 Steel Fixer.
* Minimum 2 recent references from your Supervisor / Manager.
* Sentinel Card (to include in date PTS / ICI) is advantageous.
* The ability to follow engineering instructions and diagrams.
