Frontline Recruitment Derby are currently recruiting for a Surface Mount Operative on a full time, permanent basis for a prestige client which specialise within the electronics industry.

Reports to: Surface Mount Manager

Main Purpose of Role: Production of Electronic PCB assemblies within Surface Mount Department

Role Specific Skills & Competencies
• Follow drawings, work instruction & parts list to build PCB’s
• Knowledge of setting up surface mount paste printers, printing and checking pasted pcb’s
• Knowledge of surface mount electronic components / packages and component polarity
• Knowledge with setting up and running surface mount pick and place machines (preferably MyData machines)
• Use works instruction & parts sheets to conduct full inspections & correct any faults
• Hand fit specific parts to PCB’s
• Knowledge of setting up and reflowing pcb’s in Surface Mount reflow and vapour phase ovens
• 1st off inspection
• Knowledge with IPC 610 rev E or F class III workmanship standards

Preferred Skills
• PC literate / knowledge of MS Office
• Knowledge of profiling surface mount reflow ovens
• Reading Gerber data
• Maintenance and repair of Surface Mount printers, pick and place machines and ovens
• Soldering Surface Mount Components
