Chief Instructor: The essentials.

* Occupational competence in Engineering
* Supervisory or Management experience
* An understanding of Ofsted requirements
* Good communication skills at all levels

* Experience of Health and Safety requirements
* Full UK driving licence and use of own car

* Assessment/Assessing/Assessor Qualifications (A1,TAQA, CAVA, ACWE, AVRA, IQAA, A2)
* Teaching Qualification (PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE, CertEd, 7407)
* Verifier Qualification (IQA, V1, CAVA, EQA, AIQAPP, CLIQAAP, AEQAPP, CLEQAAP)
* Experience of working with young people/adults

Chief Instructor: The organisation.

* Formed as a charity over half a century ago by the heads of leading local manufacturing employers primarily to manage and support the training of Apprentices. Over the last forty years the company has grown considerably and now provides training to companies throughout Lancashire & Greater Manchester. Accredited with all the major government training organisations including the Skills Funding Agency, and working with the best awarding bodies: City & Guilds, Institute of Learning & Management and EAL-EMTA Awards Ltd. Our client has been accredited to the Investor in People standard since 1999, achieving Gold status.

Chief Instructor: The role.

* Directly Supervise a team of Assessors/Instructors and other staff
* To manage effectively the running of the Engineering and Plumbing Workshops delivering NVQ 2 Technical Certificates and Functional Skills and to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all learners, staff and visitors
* Arrange interviews and mechanical aptitude tests with schools
* Arrangement of repair and upkeep of plant and machinery and premises and ensure workshop is adequately equipped and maintained
* To lead and co-ordinate workshop staff and learners ensuring that targets for retention, timely achievement and progression are met
* £26,000 per annum
* 25 Days Holiday plus 8 bank holidays
* Company Pension Scheme
