Overview:

Lead Mechanical / Electrical Engineer (CNC) required in a newly created role in Bury. The Lead Mechanical / Electrical Engineer (CNC) offers an opportunity to come in an established and growing company where there is heavy investment in the machinery in the organisation.

The Role:

The Lead Mechanical / Electrical Engineer (CNC) will be maintaining all machine tool assets across the facility and CNC machines. This will requires both mechanical and electrical competence, as well as knowledge of automation systems, PLCs, and NC control systems.

* Diagnose and solve machine tool issues and failures, ranging from low level component or sensor failures to major servicing / spindle changes and machine geometry re-alignment.
* Responsible for maintenance and service duties on all machine tool assets site wide
* Work with Manufacturing Engineers to optimise machine performance and accuracy
* Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance

The Person:

For the Lead Mechanical / Electrical Engineer (CNC) we are looking for a proven professional who has proven machine tool experience.

* Apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical Engineering required.
* Strong experience in machine tool fitting / maintenance including both electrical and mechanical responsibilities.
* Experience in PLC programming desirable Ability to read electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints and schematics.
* Must have experience in working with 4 or 5 axis CNC machine tools
