Quality and Environment Manager Required

Location: Rochdale

Hours of work: Monday – Friday 37.5 hours a week (Early finish on a Friday)

Salary: £40k - £45k DOE

Square Peg Associates are working with a well known global leader specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of bespoke equipment used in both onshore and offshore industries.

We are actively recruiting for a Quality and Environment Manager to become an integral part of our clients business who will be responsible for the internal business management system, management of Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• System documentation (manual, procedures, instructions, registers, etc.)
• Internal audits to ensure compliance with standards
• NCRs – ensuring they are investigated, involvement in identifying corrective actions, ensuring completion
• Compliance with legal and other requirements
• External audits (customer and 3rd party audits)
• Document and record control – Via a team of document controllers
• Monitoring and measuring performance, and communicating the findings
• Supplier evaluation and monitoring
• New recruits – Carry out part of their induction
• Respond to requests for information from customers
• Environmental operations – Dealing with the waste disposal contractors, collections and records
• Reports submitted monthly to the Directors for the board meeting.
• Holding Management Review meetings at suitable intervals, following a standard agenda.

Position:

This role is the central point of all operations and has involvement at each stage throughout the chain. This includes customers, Suppliers and Employees as well as 3rd Parties. If successful you will be responsible for communicating information about company activities to all of the above including assessment bodies and contractor approval schemes.

This role has no direct reports, but has authority over others such as the Quality Manager and Health and Safety Manager to ensure plans are implemented, problems are investigated and actions are taken.

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 year’s experience or experience in a similar Quality Management role.
• Excellent IT skills – especially Word and Excel – and an ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Internal audit – training and experience
• Experience of using the key standards – ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001
• Knowledge and experience of root-cause investigation and problem-solving
• Experience of managing legal compliance

Desirable

• An academic qualification in quality assurance or quality management (e.g. a Certificate, Diploma or Degree)
