Manufacturing Futures seek to appoint an Electronic Engineer with a basic understanding of electronic system design (do you know how a PCB works, could you identify components and the approximate working of a system by reading a schematic drawing, have you had experience with Altium or another electronics CAD package and could design a basic circuit, do you have a basic working knowledge of embedded software / firmware?) and good practical skills (can you fit things together with basic practical mechanical engineering skills, could you recognise and use most bits of equipment in a standard electronic test environment?) who is happy to spend a third of their working month on site with customers (are you professional in the eyes of a customer, happy to work on your own if required, and able to think on your feet if there are problems?) and two thirds in office on various design tasks (can you quickly get to grips with differing tasks as a jack-of-all-trades within an electronic engineering department?)

As Electronic Engineer for this role you'll need an electrical / electronic engineering qualification, experience working as a field based / customer facing engineer or technician, and be happy to travel as part of your role. This Electronic Engineer role comes with an excellent base salary and a friendly / positive culture. The travel required is rarely international and fully expensed.

Electronic Engineer - Role & Responsibilities - Service Technician:

'On the road' role (one third of your working month)
- Install, service and maintain electrical / electronic products on varying sites
- Travel will be required but this is fully expensed and will rarely require nights away
- Regular customer contact as the face of the company. Solve their problems
- Provide support to the sales team and be aware of cross selling opportunities

'In the office' role (two thirds of your working month)
- Interpret initial concept and design, prototype, test and introduce into manufacturing multiple design projects
- PCB design and layout, circuit design
- BOM / build instructions / prototyping and assembly
- Embedded software / Microprocessor / PICs

Electronic Engineer - Skills & Abilities - Service Technician:

- Recognised qualification in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
- Experience of installation, servicing and maintenance of electrical / electronic equipment
- Experience of lone working as sole engineer on site
- Excellent customer and communication skills and experience as a customer facing engineer
- Knowledge of electronics design (hardware and embedded software)
- Knowledge of prototype, test and assembly for electronic products
- Comfortable with travel and periods away from home
