Manufacturing Manager

Salary £50K to £60K

My client is an aerospace engineering company with modern facilities based east of Blackburn which manufactures aero structure and aero engine components to a high standard. They are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Manager to dynamically lead an operational business, running on a various shift rotation systems. You must have the ability to lead from the front with an in-depth understanding of managing all aspects of the business whilst applying the latest continuous improvement techniques.
You must be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of all aspects of leading a complete manufacturing business unit from supplier to customer along with control through strong management and budget experience
Your focus must be on managing the daily operations whilst strategically developing the business to ensure future success.

Principle Accountabilities
* To lead, develop and motivate your team ensuring they can satisfy current and future business needs.
* Ensure a robust HS&E system is in place to fulfil all legal and business requirements.
* Ensure your business has the relevant control to ensure 100% adherence to the internal delivery schedule and that world class quality standards are achieved and maintained.
* To be accountable for all business variances with and develop strong plans to manage any deviations recognising the business wide policy deployment process.
* To develop and manage financial budgets and have responsibility for profit and loss of the business unit.
* Facilitate the development of a robust quality improvement plan which exceeds customer expectations and will drive quality back into the product by enabling right first time, every time.
* Ensure efficient manning plans are in place enabling sufficient manpower is available to discharge the required order book 100% on time and to the required quality and costs.
* Manage and maintain consistent communication between all departments.
* Develop your Teams so you and they apply continuous improvement techniques into daily activities to maximise efficiencies and minimises any potential disruptions.
* To ensure all company and aerospace standards are followed and adhered to
* General discipline, return to works and appraisals.
* Take ownership of all internal and external audit process'
* Develop, coach and mentor all direct reports as appropriate
* Manage all logistical aspects of the business ensuring you have man, material and equipment available to satisfy customer requirements

Personal Characteristics

* Proven experience of achieving targets in a dynamic environment.
* An experienced Manager who can gain trust and respect from teams to maximise operational benefits
* A Continuous Improvement champion who will ensure that all opportunities are fully investigated and implemented as appropriate,
* An ability to develop others through the use of coaching, mentoring.
* Well developed interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels.
* Possesses the necessary enthusiasm, desire to succeed and discipline to achieve significant results for the organization.
* To be able to operate across functions, eg Engineering and logistics
* A good understanding of the business enabling right first time decisions to be made
* Have a high attention to detail, be driven and be very results focussed
* Quality focused, with a plan to drive your operation to six sigma results.
