Secure Information Systems (SIS) Senior Business Development Manager, operating across the Aerospace, Defence and multiple other markets. This role will be promoting a range of business process, system integration and performance management services centred on a unique software solution which provides strategic leadership and management of the business development team in the promotion of the company’s products and services.

The successful candidate will be key to the transition of the SIS Enterprise Operational Intelligence business stream from ‘start up’ to a fully-fledged business within the wider MASS portfolio.

With the ability to demonstrate a strong track record in winning UK defence and aerospace business, as well as generate new business through networking within their existing client base, this person will show evidence of a strong personal network in defence acquisition, logistics and support that is clearly still growing.

Proven business development skills will include;
• Identifying and building relationships with potential customers;
• Assisting customers in developing relevant requirements;
• Working with technical and commercial staff to develop formal and informal bids and tender documents;
• Contract negotiation and closing deals;
• Experience of running a business development team;
• Demonstrable leadership skills;
• Strong presentational and interpersonal skills;
• Account management

Applicants will have practical understanding of secure IT / IS systems and solutions, including application development, fixed and wireless infrastructure strategies and managed services. They should possess a natural authority and persuasive leadership style with strong interpersonal skills used to engage at a senior level with our customers. We seek someone dedicated, self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable. This is a senior appointment offering considerable autonomy and will report directly to the SIS Group Head.

The successful candidate will be required to hold, or be in a position to qualify for NSV Security Clearance.

This role is based across the St Neots, Reading and Lincoln areas, with frequent travel.

•Business Change Consultancy: MOD Procurement; Performance Management; Process Management
•Tools & Methodologies: Campaign and capture planning; Bid Writing; Business Case generation; P3M
•Applications: Competent in the use of the full suite of MS Office applications
•Markets: Knowledge and experience of selling directly to Defence and Aerospace; Experience of selling service and product solutions into a range of public and private sector markets
•Other: Proven business development skills including formulation of business strategy.

Desirable Skill Requirements:

•Other: Consultancy/technical/engineering background; Current SC clearance; Knowledge and design of business development processes; Minimum of 10 years’ experience; Experience in promoting / marketing service offerings using web, search engines, social media, etc
