ASD Teaching Assistant - Chelmsford - Job Specification

You will be an empathetic ASD Teaching Assistant who has at least received a 2:1 in your degree and ideally supported learners with a diagnosis of Autism. You will have an empathetic mind-set and a keen interest in developing your SEN understanding. You will be a conscientious individual who can talk with ease and confidence to everyone in school, be that pupils, teaching staff or parents. You will need to be patient, resilient and consistent in your approach.

About the ASD Teaching Assistant Role

In this exciting ASD Teaching Assistant position you will be moving throughout the school to match demand. In supporting pupils with Autism, Aspergers and other communication barriers you will be able to develop the correct approach to working with those who exhibit different Special Educational Needs. As an ASD Teaching Assistant you will be playing a supportive role in the pastoral development of the special education needs students you will be working with. You will be helping SEN students’ progress their studies by acting as an academic mentor.
