BS Social Care are currently recruiting for Project Leader to work for local reputable charity which has been established since 1991.

This organisation is a local charity that provide direct access emergency accommodation in 16 single rooms for homeless people over 18 with a local connection to the Harrogate District. This is the only direct access hostel in the Harrogate District and works closely with other agencies, particularly Probation, the Police and drug & alcohol services.

The Organisation

The Project is funded by various local authority and charitable grants and also receives revenue from Housing Benefit, charitable donations and fundraising. They have a Day Service in Harrogate which operates Monday - Friday 10:00 - 14:00 which provides support and advice for homeless or vulnerably housed service users, including rough sleepers. The Day Centre also provide hot meals, refreshments, shower and Laundry Facilities. The Project has purchased/leased a number of properties to act as move-on accommodation for clients. The clients are provided with floating support by the Project Assistant and provide greater independent for those moving on. The Project are also proud to be part of "No Second Night Out" which is geared towards ensuring that first-time homeless people never have to spend more than one night on the street.

The Role

You will be the Project Manager of the No Second Night Out service, please see some of the duties below:

* Continue the success of the well established NSNO service in the Harrogate District
* Manage referrals and assessments into the service, identifying and facilitating suitable offers of onward accommodation.
* To explore long term solutions to tackle rough sleeping through the development of prevention work as well as supporting people off the streets
* Maintain a successful move-on pathways by managing the project move on accomodation from the assessment hub and hostel
* Ensure effective multi-agency working and maintain successful, trusted relationships with private landlords
* Build the project's capacity to meet the needs of entrenched rough sleepers, by exploring innovative ways to tackle street homelessness, negotiating with and influencing key strategic partners.

The Ideal Candidate

* A non-judgemental approach to working with homeless people and an ability to communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders and strategic partners
* High level of resilience in a demanding and varied role dealing with some of the most marginalised and complex needs' clients.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills, but adaptable
* Excellent record keeping
* Previous experience in delivering and developing services for vulnerable people, including those who are facing multiple exclusion from services.
* Experience managing complex and difficult situations in relation to people
* Negotiating with stakeholders at senior management level

Normal working hours are Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:00, however flexibility is required to work outside these hours if necessary, and to cover on-call on a rota basis. This is a full time post based in Harrogate, however the successful candidate must be willing and able to travel throughout the Harrogate District as required in order to fulfil the duties of the post.

Salary and Benefits:

The starting salary is £28,500 per annum with additional remuneration for on-call and over time duties. They offer an annual holiday entitlement of 20 days plus bank holiday entitlement, a contributory staff pension scheme and a staff health care benefit scheme.
