Reed Education is assisting a college for pupils aged 19-25 with Special Needs recruit for a Teacher to plan, prepare, deliver and assess high quality ICT lessons across the age / ability range. This college has a strong framework and reputation for supporting students with ASD, Complex Needs and SLD develop social independence and work towards obtaining skills and qualifications needed to secure a job within their local community.

Days of work are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm (40 hours per week), term- time only. This role is to start as soon as the right candidate is available to start.

This opportunity is available in order to:

 To raise standards of learner attainment and achievement within IT.
 To monitor and support all learners’ progress.
 To ensure the provision of an appropriate, relevant and differentiated IT curriculum.
 To assist in the sharing of good practice in IT teaching across other curriculum areas.
 To deliver high quality IT teaching, learning and assessment across the age / ability range.
 To support the development of the learners’ skills of independence and employability, through the delivery of relevant IT programmes.


Delivering high quality IT lessons across the age / ability range (19-25 years)
To plan and prepare appropriate schemes of work and resources in the subject area
which meet the requirements of learners and agreed programmes of accreditation.
To set and monitor subject targets for IT which support learner progress.
Support the development of E-Safety education for all learners across the learning curriculum
Work with the aim of promoting an E-Safety culture.
Support the development of an E-Safety policy increasing staff awareness of E-Safety across the learning curriculum.

You will enjoy a varied teaching post at this college. Every day will bring different challenges since each learner has their own specific emotional, social and learning need which makes this type of teaching role unique. There is a great focus on peer support at this SEN establishment and you will be trained to specifically manage, develop and nurture a wide range of pupil needs.

Qualifications required:

Qualified teacher status (QTS / QTLS)
Degree or equivalent in ICT  
Knowledge of current educational developments in ICT in particular
Understanding of strategies for raising attainment
Commitment to continual professional development and/or staff training
Relevant Work-related experience
