We are looking to fill the position of Branch Sales Manager for one of our clients located in Durham.

Within the role you will be responsible for:

Managing a team of 3/4 individuals.
Overseeing all hire agreements and branch operations ensuring compliance with applicable legislation (particularly the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, and Working Time Regulations) and company policies and procedures.
Promoting the business within the region and investigating and converting new opportunities in order to meet planned revenue/sales targets.
Maintaining relationships with customers via efficient and effective programmes of regular visits.
Ensuring that the fleet and other assets under the control of the branch remain secure and protected at all times.
Leading, instructing and providing guidance to all staff on how to follow procedures detailed within the Branch Procedures Manual which contains all the information that branch staff need to understand and follow to carry out their daily work.
Ensuring that hardcopy and computerised and in particular, the tracking and invoicing systems, are accurate, up to date and complete.
Ensuring that customer order numbers are obtained, online recharges are updated and that all invoices are accurate and printed on time thus minimising delays in payment.
Preparing and submitting all business reports in a timely manner and ensuring that the Regional General Manager is made aware of all significant branch issues and developments.
Coordinating the cost effective use of all Branch equipment and resources to maximise profit on all operational aspects of the business.
Recruiting and managing suitably qualified and experienced hourly paid staff to ensure that smooth running branch operations deliver a consistently high quality service to all customers.
Any other duties as directed by the Regional General Manager or Managing Director.

Branch Sales Managers are potentially on call 24 hours a day in an emergency and will use their judgement based on experience to remedy any customer problems outside normal working hours. The working environment is typical of the transport industry and the job requires both indoor and outdoor working. Usual hours Monday to Friday 8-6 with occasional cover on Saturdays.

Low manning levels often require staff to manage without direct supervision and work flexibly when required. The jobholder is responsible for maintaining staff motivation and commitment despite being out of the office frequently.
Matters referred upward include staff disciplinary and salary matters, significant expenditure and queries from major customers.

Commercial vehicle knowledge and industry experience highly desired for this Branch Sales Manager position.

Also a current driving licence and 2/3 years management experience to include staff supervision & customer service,
A sound education is important however; it is more relevant to have the necessary drive, business acumen and enthusiasm to perform the duties required.
