Role: Principle Electronics Design Engineer
Location: Guildford
Salary: £50,000 - £65,000

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

The Principal Electronics Design Engineer is responsible for the design and development of all aspects of the control electronics. This includes digital and analogue circuit design, interfacing to the FGPA and micro-processor as well as FPGA firmware design and development. The position requires a proactive expert in Control Electronics able to lead and take responsibility for key circuitry. Being a team player within the Electronics Team the position will work closely with other operations and engineering functions to ensure delivery of set objectives.

Key responsibilities for the role include, although are not limited to, the following:

*Overall responsibility for control electronics from concept to production release
*Architectural, conceptual and detailed design of the control electronics
*Analogue and digital circuit design, development and documentation
*FPGA design, development and documentation
*Ensure hardware is compatible with microcontroller and FPGA firmware
*Ensuring the control electronics design meets the hardware requirement specification
*Verification, characterisation and validation testing of the control electronics
*Design for manufacture and test
*Work in accordance with the Electronics Team Processes as well as Development Process and Business Management Process
*Innovation and enhancement of control electronics
*Liaise with control electronics suppliers and keep abreast of latest innovations

Relevant Skills

*Degree in electronic engineering and significant electronic engineering experience
*Expert in digital and analogue electronic design
*Expert in FPGA design in VHDL
*Experience with real time microprocessors, programmable logic, memory, communication ports and watchdog circuit design
*Communication interface electronic circuit design in particular SPI and CAN
*PCB schematic design in DxDesigner
*Motor drive inverter control
*Full electronic development lifecycle experience
*Research and scientific mentality*
