Fairview Hospital is a specialist service for men and women with learning disabilities and other complex needs such as autism, personality disorder, mental health conditions, forensic histories and challenging behaviours. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain the exposure of working with a variety of clients. The hospital benefits from a fully equipped activity centre both on and off-site so that opportunities for rehabilitation are maximised. Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 – 17:00
Location: Fairview Hospital, Boxted Road, Mile End, Colchester, Essex, CO4 5HF
Salary: £18,000

The Opportunity
As an Assistant Psychologist, you will support the Qualified Psychologist in the delivery and evaluation of clinical services, providing psychological assessment and individual/group based psychological interventions under clinical supervision as required. You will have an active role in understanding, preventing and ameliorating psychological distress and disorder to help improve mental health and wellbeing of clients. The role will also involve the administration, scoring and report writing of psychometric assessments, standardised risk assessments, clinical formulation and supervised individual and group interventions.

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate for this role will have a degree in Psychology (or an equivalent, relevant qualification). We are looking for someone who is passionate about working in adult mental healthcare and any relevant Assistant Psychologist experience is advantageous.

You will have a good understanding of the role of therapeutic boundaries and the importance of evidence-based interventions.
