Speech & Language Assistant Specification
We are looking for a passionate and highly motivated Speech & Language graduate to join a friendly Speech and Language Therapy team. You must have a demonstrable knowledge of appropriate assessments and interventions for children with ASD and other learning difficulties and this will be supported by your academic success. Experience of working with children with ASD and learning difficulties would be extremely desirable. You must have the skills to be a positive role model and develop strong working relationships with all colleagues and pupils.
About the Speech & Language Assistant Role
At this inclusive school, as a Speech & Language Assistant you will be assessing needs and delivering speech and language therapy across the school. You will be responsible for liaising with the Speech & Language Therapy team and teachers to support language and educational development in school. You will work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to provide targeted help in areas of the curriculum, namely Literacy and Numeracy, that are sometimes hard to understand.
