The Client

Acorn recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established manufacturing company based between Newport and Cardiff. They are looking for a dynamic Accounts Assistant / Credit Control Assistant to join their team on a Fixed Term Contract basis until October


* Chase outstanding debt via telephone and email.
* Sales Ledger - input and raising invoices, receipts, reconciliations and issuing monthly statements.
* Cash allocation and posting onto the system.
* Dealing with all account queries.
* Processing and collecting payments in conjunction with agreed payment terms.
* Maintain good customer relationships at all times.
* Dealing closely with other business departments on a regular basis.
* Assist with ad hoc duties as required to support other roles within the finance department.

The Candidate

* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* Strong administration skills.
* Numerate and literate.
* Ability to work on own initiative, calmly under pressure.
* Good IT and typing skills.
* Good organisation skills.
* Ability to prioritise work and work to deadlines
* Reliable and punctual.
* To be able to work to a high level of accuracy, with good attention to detail.
* Previous experience in a customer facing department.
* Reliable, trustworthy and honest by nature.
* Previous experience of sales ledger and Sage 200 system.
* Polite and professional telephone manner.
* Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
* A team player with a pleasant and affable personality.


* Paying a basic salary of up to £19,000.
* Monday - Friday working hours (9 am - 5 pm, 35 hours a week).
* Free parking on site
