White Knight Recruitment is working with a specialist Health and Social Care provider based in London and the South East of England, whose key focus is to support individuals with complex and challenging needs to maximise their independence to live a meaningful and fulfilling life.

They are currently looking for a Forensic Psychologist at a Mental Health Rehabilitation Service based in Maidstone that is an inpatient service specifically designed for individuals who find it difficult to cope with everyday life with many failed attempts to live in the community. The service specialises in treatment resistant complex cases, which are delivered in partnership with commissioners, families and individuals, to care for men and women suffering from long-term complex mental health problems.

The duties of the position are, but not limited to:

Job Role:
·To help provide and ensure a high standard of care in a safe and secure therapeutic environment to those adults referred and/or admitted
·To provide assessment and therapeutic interventions to a high standard according to the individual’s identified needs.
·Contribute to multi professional working within the team and the referring agencies through multi-disciplinary reviews.
·Contribute to professional and service developments.

Key Tasks:
·Conduct psychological assessments with the individuals admitted and contribute to the development of suitable effective treatment/care plans.
·To work with individual patients who have an identified need for specific psychological input.
·Be involved in the facilitation of therapeutic groups as required.
·Participate in the ongoing assessments of clients as required.
·Review and evaluate effectiveness of interventions offered.
·Provide reports to evaluate and communicate clinical work as required.
·In consultation with medical staff and other professional other professionals ensure that therapeutic interventions are implemented.
·Protect confidentiality at all times.
·To ensure that patients have their rights to privacy and dignity maintained.
·Be aware of and work within the confines of any relevant legislation, e.g. The Mental Health Act 1983 etc.
·Help with the development and maintenance of a safe secure therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
·Be involved in ensuring that the patients are routinely involved in decisions affecting their care.

The successful candidate for the Forensic Psychologist position will demonstrate the following:
·Chartered status with British Psychological Society, or eligibility for Chartership. At least two year post qualification experience practicing as a Clinical Psychologist.
·Experience of working with adults with Mental health problems, Learning Disabilities, Substance Misuse and Forensic Histories in in-patient settings.
·Experience of assessing Challenging Behaviour, formulating underlying functions and needs, and designing behavioural or treatment plans accordingly.
·Completion of a training course in the supervision of Assistant Psychologists. Experience of Supervising Assistant Psychologists in their practice.
·Experience of working with Service Users with Learning Disabilities.
·Proficiency in and experience of administering psychometric testing, and incorporating results into assessment and formulation, and the design of care packages.
·Familiarity with the Care Plan Approach.
·Experience of indirect clinical work, such as consultation with multi-disciplinary teams to support their therapeutic interventions with service Users.
