Science Teaching Assistant – Person specification

The ideal candidate for this Science Teaching Assistant position would be a confident and highly enthusiastic Science graduate with a passion for the core subject with a minimum of a 2:2 in your Science degree and good science A-Level/s. As a Science Teaching Assistant you must be a driven and industrious individual who looks to use their own initiative to ensure that students are achieving their academic targets. In this Science Teaching Assistant role, you will be expected to embrace the ethos of the school and have the desire to share your passion for education. You must display a proficient understanding of scientific concepts as a Science Teaching Assistant and possess the natural ability to break down the complex subject into manageable but stimulating understanding.

About the Science Teaching Assistant role

Your responsibilities in this Science Teaching Assistant role will include proactively supporting both the teaching and learning across the Science department. As a Science Teaching Assistant you will be working with both high and low ability students, supporting students both on a 1-1 basis and in groups. Whilst your confidence and experience as a Science Teaching Assistant grows, there will be endless opportunities to extend your responsibilities. You will begin to develop your own challenging but stimulating learning materials whilst starting to deliver pre-planned lessons to develop and refine your teaching practice in the classroom as a Science Teaching Assistant.
