Would you like the opportunity to work for an export driven business? We currently have a vacancy for a Project Accountant to work with our Weapon Systems UK business at their Barrow site.

As a Project Accountant, you will be reporting to the Finance Manager and be responsible for working cross functionally to manage all aspects of accounting for several active programmes.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to enhance your project accounting skills whilst working within a dynamic production environment.

Your main responsibilities as a Project Accountant will involve:

Completing system entries in SAP and Project Trading forecast tool to reflect accurate programme performance in management and statutory reporting

Working closely with other functions to ensure Programme costs, risk and Estimate to complete data accurately

Setting annual budgets and working with the Programme Management team to monitor performance

Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of the programme Contract Status Reports, including relevant comments to aid management's understanding of movements and variances to budget

Supporting capture of accurate Programme Risks & Opportunities for consolidation at business level

Supporting accurate and timely invoicing on relevant programmes

Supporting business improvement activities within the function and throughout the wider business

Supporting compliance with Financial Control Frameworks

Your skills and qualifications as a Project Accountant:

Part qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA), ideally looking to qualify in the next 18 months

Experience of project accounting within similar industry would be desirable

Advanced Excel Skills required

Experience of using SAP would be desirable

Experience of working within a change or transformation environment

Salary: £32 418+
