Our client, a leading Investment Banking firm are seeking a Chief Operating Officer to join them in their London office.

Our client has expertise in many sectors such as Agriculture, Automotive, Chemicals, Consumer & Luxury, Financial Sponsors, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Industrials, Services, and Technology with strong regional experience in Asia.

Their experitise are in acquisitions, divestments, JVs and other forms of strategic alliances and provide corporate finance services in situations involving restructuring, debt advisory and business valuation. Therefore the ideal person will have knowledge of M&A.

The Role:

This is a global function and you will be responsible for the company's entire operations function, running a team of 3-4 people, and reporting to the Senior Managing Directors on matters involving global operations and technology strategy, analytics, compliance and IT.

The firm is a very data-driven organisation and so the ideal candidate will possess a technical edge: being fluent in data analysis, business intelligence concepts, and statistical techniques.

Solid experience in operations or related roles at a managerial level is required. Experience in Financial Services is a plus.

Primary Responsibilities:

Your primary responsibilities are the core of the COO role. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate strong capabilities in these areas:

- Helping the Partners forge strong, ambitious, data-driven targets for growth and then achieve those targets
- Using and integrating financial and operational data analytics to provide insight, critical thinking, and action-oriented direction to the company
- Maximising knowledge transfer internally and with our partners, to facilitate fast and lasting dissemination of key lessons and best practices
- Helping BDA transition from geographic thinking to global sector thinking
- Participating as an active member of the group's Executive Committee in discussing and implementing group business, finance and operational strategy
- Thinking about the longer horizon while the Partners are focused on winning and closing deals

Oversight Responsibilities:

In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will have oversight and accountability over the below functions, with support from other members of the Operations team.

Compliance - Keeping compliant in all business regions and monitoring positioning in the changing regulatory landscape
Cybersecurity - Putting systems in place to combat information loss, leakage or theft from hardware failures or data breaches
Human resources - Upgrading processes in order to attract, recruit, develop, and retain the best people
IT Systems - Adding and maintaining quality reliable IT systems that contribute to achieving the Company's goals
Marketing - Deploying marketing initiatives to elevate recognition and prestige in the wider IB community
Project Launches & Implementations - Facilitating the effective rollout of new systems/processes, including internal education and subsequent support
Training - Planning, Coordinating, and Facilitating Training programmes to boost banker capability and effectiveness
