The hours are Mon – Thurs 8.30 am – 5.00pm  & Friday 8.30 – 3.45 pm
23 Days holiday Per year

Cubed Resourcing are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of their long-established client based in Skipton, West Yorkshire.
 
They are actively seeking a fully skilled maintenance engineer to join their team.
 
Purpose of Role
Ensure that all production assets and facilities remain in good working order and achieve optimum output, utilisation and yield targets, whilst ensuring site and plant are compliant with Health and Safety standards. Working closely with QA you will also help to maintain the standards necessary within the facility to comply with British Retail Consortium (BRC) and other customer requirements.
 
Role Objectives
§  Responsible for the site preventative maintenance schedule
§  Account manage and liaise with the various contractors responsible for keeping both site and production assets with conformance
§  Deal with any breakdowns in a timely manner and liaise with external contractors where required
§  Assist operational staff in achieving utilisation and efficiency KPI’s
§  Ensure all engineering records are completed accurately and in a timely manner
§  Support the achievement of production KPI’s
§  Contribute to training of new production staff, cross training of existing staff and refresher training where necessary
§  Develop the engineering department in line with the business growth
§  Oversee training of apprentices and any other engineering resources
§  Implement and maintain a Total Preventative Maintenance (TMP) schedule derived from service schedule and Conditional Based Monitoring (CBM) data
§  Carry out general daily maintenance checks
§  Maintain an inventory of all tools and consumables and ensure they are in good working order
§  Contribute to the development of company policies for Health and Safety and Quality Management in conjunction with the Health and Safety manager / representative
§  Contribute ideas for continuous improvement of the production department and facilities, including suggestions for the purchase of new or second hand equipment that will contribute to greater efficiency
§  Any other duties of a similar nature as determined by management from time to time
 
KPI’s
Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are specific performance measurements which are used to evaluate success of the company, departments and then individuals.
KPI’s will be set and reviewed at regular intervals, initially the KPI’s for this role have been set as:
§  To keep the maintenance schedule current and up to date
§  Consumable / serviceable stock levels are kept up
§  OEE>80%
§  Maintain BRC / QA standards
 
Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Attitude

- Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Proof of engineering ability shown through previous work
- Good team work skills with the ability to work positively as a team and on own initiative
- Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure
- Educated to minimum HNC Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of Health and Safety
- Demonstrable written and spoken communication skills
- Experience in and knowledge of the FMCG manufacturing sector
