An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cook to join a prestigious, growing catering company based near the Chippenham area.

The company hold various different events throughout the year from weddings, corporate events, private parties and many more. They are looking for an experienced Cook to join the team immediately and develop into the Head Cook.

The role will include:

- Preparing the ingredients initially for the selected dishes.

- Cooking meals from scratch - good wholesome meals i.e steak and ale pie, lasagnes etc.

- Maintain the stock rotation at all times.

- Planning and making the menu (with a general idea of costing when planning a recipe.)

- Clearing and cleaning down your work space after the service provided ready for the next service.

- Maintaining Health & Safety regulations at all times in the kitchen area.

- Using your efficiency and experience to produce the best you can.

Key skills:

- Must be adaptable due to the variation of events. E.g. you may be expected to cook for 25 people or up to 800 people (This will be with others and you will be trained.)

- Excellent time management skills

- To be able to think on your feet

- Must be flexible with working hours due to the nature of work

- Must be resilient and be able to work under pressure

- To have high levels of accuracy and attention to detail at all times

- Previous cook / chef experience and ability to enjoy a challenge

The position has great room for progression as they would like the right candidate to be able to run the kitchen, delegating preparation tasks to other staff members whilst you prepare the food. Eventually, you will also be a key handler and responsible for the security of the site and in the unlikelihood event that the alarm may go off you will be expected to check the premises and reset the alarm.

This position is a temporary - permanent position. Any exceptional candidates will be taken on after 12 weeks.

Days and hours of work: 40 hours a week (starting early-5.30am-6.30am).

Pay rate: Starting on £9.50 on the temporary basis.

Your own transport is required.
