Pay: £10.11 per hour

Full time 4 shifts per week

Night shifts 9.30pm to 7.00am

Must be willing to work some weekends.

Must be a car driver

Our client is an independent, residential special school and college for students with severe and moderate learning difficulties and disabilities. They are seeking Waking Night Support Workers. Ideally you will have previous relevant (SEN) experience, including autism and complex needs, in a similar organisation and/or relevant qualifications.

But if you have the interest and motivation, we'll support you to develop your skills and knowledge, and for some, your career in Care, Education or work with children and young people.

They take a holistic approach to the work we do and all job roles make a valued contribution in helping to grow the confidence and capabilities of our students.

* The Waking Night Support Worker will be responsible for . . .

* ensuring that the building is checked for any fire risks, health, hygiene and security issues and to tour the house every 30 minutes with due regard for the above.

* undertaking general domestic duties as and when required in agreement with the House Co-ordinator and Night Waking Support Co-ordinator.

* supporting children/young adults as necessary in relation to their Individual Education Plans including the use of physical intervention upon the receipt of appropriate training.

* Provide immediate response and suitable support to students and colleagues to address, and where possible de-escalate, incidents involving challenging behaviour.

* Provide immediate support and response to medical emergences

* Maintain timely, concise and accurate records in appropriate house and pupil log books.

* following at all time our clients policies and procedures with due regard to child/adult protection and health and safety.

* maintaining professional confidentiality at all times.

* maintaining a flexible approach to work and responding appropriately to situations faced including assisting with aspects of intimate personal care.

* attending all relevant induction and training programmes organised by our client.
