Acorn Recruitment is working on behalf of a well-established international company whose focus is on the design and manufacture of advanced satellites and systems for telecommunications, earth observation, and navigation and science programmes

We are currently seeking an Occupational Health Advisor to join the team at the Bristol facility on a 12 months part time contract.

Job Role
To provide clinical support to the Occupational Health Department in a customer and quality-focused manner, ensure the service delivery meets both legal and business requirements. This role is conducted more by telephone than face to face.

Main tasks and responsibilities
*Case management; comprehensive functional capability assessments on employees either who are absent from work or referred through by the line manager, giving advice to both the employee and business regarding fitness to work
*Health surveillance: perform the required health surveillance procedures and interpret results in line with department procedure / policy. Advising the employee and business, when appropriate of the outcome of the results.
*Production and maintenance of confidential medical records. Adhering to outlined standards as defined by the NMC and the internal policies and procedures.
*To participate in development of health promotion programmes designed to inform and educate workers about health issues at work.
*To respond to an injured / unwell employee in line with departmental policies.
*Support the OH management and admin team; contribute in the running of the department, taking an active informed interest in the development of policies and procedures.


*Registered General Nurse
*Minimum 5 years' experience in Occupational Health Nursing.
*Interpersonal, communication and motivational skills

*Certified HAVS assessor
*NEBOSH certificate
*Industrial Audiometry / Spirometry certificate and other specialist skills
*Qualification in Occupational Health. Consideration will be given to candidates with proven record of OH nursing.
