Do you want to work for a large engineering firm with some of best facilities in the UK? Our client have modern facilities and are growing year on year. They are now looking to recruit a Project Planner.

Job Requirements
The Project Planner will assist with the planning, control, coordination and development of the Slotting Room / Milestone Planning, Order Input and Production Planning processes

The location
The firm is situated near to the M62 and is easily accessible from the motorway.

Job details
The role is working on days and salary is dependent on experience but circa £33K.

Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountability's:

Assist with the planning, control, coordination and development of the Slotting Room / Milestone Planning Processes
Assist with the planning, control, coordination and development of the Order Input Process and Production Planning Processes
Assist with the production and maintenance of shop floor documentation. Monitor and report on key milestones for all projects and ensure there is sufficient focus on hitting them across the business
Highlight potential slippages and bottlenecks and agree recovery actions with the departments involved. Escalate if necessary
Champion certain major contracts through the business on behalf of the Planning team
Support and assist in the development of the pull/slotting system throughout the business
Improve on-time delivery towards company objectives
Support the continued implementation of lean principles within the company
Undertake additional duties as reasonably deemed necessary in support of on-going business requirements.
To meet company objectives in achieving value for money, cost savings, on time delivery, lead time reduction and quality

Person Specification
HNC/Degree level education preferred.
Experience of working in an engineering environment desirable
Knowledge of MRP systems, SAP skills essential
Production Planning experience preferable
Project management/planning skills
Excellent communication and relationship management skills
